You may or may not have noticed that the Mapzzz site was a bit dormant this past week, but don’t think we haven’t been scouring all possible avenues for the best new music in the meantime. In truth, our other obligations took up a bit too much time to allow us to get a proper post up, but through it all, we’ve been spinning Body, the debut LP from London (by way of Detroit and United Arab Emirates) producer Darling Farah. 11 tracks of ghostly, patient, and dense spins on stripped-back house and techno make up the album, which we’ve basically had on repeat for the past 10 days, and still find ourselves in awe of the textures and details buried in the young man’s soundscapes. If you’re only going to give Body two chances, “Fortune” and the title track are a good place to start, but really, this one deserves a good listen from beginning to end. (via Dummy)
