Seattle’s DJAO has been on our radar for a minute—his soupy, introverted tracks luring us into the depths of his releases for the likes of Portland’s Dropping Gems and his hometown imprint Car Crash Set. That’s why it’s nice to see this rising tunesmith taking the lead spot on Friends of Friends’ forthcoming Show Me the Future compilation, which alongside DJAO’s “Time to Stop Waiting,” features tunes from Kid Smpl, Octo Octa, Dreams, and a handful of other producers.
