One of Oakland’s own (and the man behind our latest Sharkbite Sessions video) Shortcircles  has dropped his second EP for Plug Research today, offering up four slices of R&B-soaked beatwork and a remix from Mapzzz’s own Glenn Jackson on the Remember Me  EP. Reigning in his penchant for blissed-out haze, Shortcircles’ latest effort replaces a bit of his heavenly tendencies with more glowing, colorful synthwork and a healthy dose of sultry female vocals. It’s part jazzy hip-hop, part floating R&B, and part UK-skitter, wrapped up with a final excursion into Jackson’s melodic bummer-house.  You can stream the whole thing below and download the EP for free (or at least the price of your email) here.
